THE MONUMENT
THE DOME OF THE ROCK Β· 691 CE
The Dome of the Rock was completed in 691 of the Common Era β 59 years after the death of Muhammad. It was built by the Umayyad Caliph Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan on the Foundation Stone, the Even HaShetiya, the same stone that sat at the center of Solomon's Temple. The building is not a mosque. It is a geometric argument. And the argument is the wheel.
THE OCTAGONAL BASE
In sacred geometry, the octagon is the transition form between the square (earth, the four directions) and the circle (heaven, the completed cycle). THE GOLDEN DOME
The dome is gold β the color of the Sun, the Kaf, the sovereign light. The dome is crowned by the Sun. The house supports the wheel which is crowned by sovereignty. The king sits at the center of the system.
THE CRESCENT CROWN
The hilal β the crescent moon β sits atop the Dome's spire. It is not a symbol of Islam. It is a clock hand. The hilal marks the new moon β the beginning of the lunar month, the first day of the 29-day cycle. The crescent on the Dome is saying: the wheel is running. The moon is the index. The Foundation Stone is the hub.
The Dome of the Rock has been standing in Jerusalem for 1,335 years. It is built on Solomon's hub, in Solomon's geometry, with Solomon's crescent as its crown. The Quran encoded Solomon's system in its letters. The Dome encoded it in its stones. The argument has been in plain sight for thirteen centuries. It was waiting for someone to read it.
