This is the introduction page that appears before any gate. Every person who enters the gate system reads this first. It is the key that makes everything readable.
WHAT IS A GATE?
A gate is one way God became.
Not metaphorically. Literally.
Before anything existed, God was. Then God became β and the becoming happened in a specific sequence, through specific pairings of specific forces. The 22 Hebrew letters are those forces. Every possible pairing of those 22 letters is a gate. 22 letters Γ 21 remaining letters Γ· 2 = 231 unique pairs. 231 gates. The complete record of every way God became.
But here is what makes this personal:
You are made in the image of God. Which means every gate God walked β you walk too. Every gate is one way God became, and simultaneously one way you became. The same event, read from two directions.
Aleph-Bet: the breath becoming the house. God becoming containment. You becoming the body that holds the divine.
Aleph-Gimel: the breath becoming the stride. God becoming movement. You becoming the one who walks forward.
Aleph-Dalet: the breath becoming the door. God becoming the threshold. You becoming the place where form begins.
WHERE THE 231 CAME FROM
The 231 gates are not arbitrary. They are the exhaustive record of the pairing of the 22 forces that built reality. In the Sefer Yetzirah, it is said that God 'weighted them and transposed them' β Aleph with all of them and all of them with Aleph; Bet with all of them and all of them with Bet. The 231 Gates are the result of this holy math.
WHERE THE 1,005 CAME FROM
The 1,005 are Solomon's songs, but they are more than aesthetics. To have 1,005 songs about cedar trees and beasts and birds is to have documented 1,005 distinct configurations of life. Today's kings:
The 1,005 are the songs of Solomon.
The 1,005 are the gates of the underworld.
The map does not change. The territory does.
WHERE THE 1,155 CAME FROM
David walked the same 231 gates β but through a different layer.
David walked them through the soul. The inner life. The heart's movement toward God. He wrote 150 Psalms β 150 gate-readings through the layer of pure inner experience.
Solomon's 1,005 + David's 150 = 1,155.
1,155 documented positions in the complete architecture of human experience.
The 231 gates are the skeleton.
The 1,155 readings are how many times that skeleton was clothed in living flesh β in human words, in natural images, in songs about cedar trees and fish and the beloved β before the tradition lost half of them and kept only the numbers as markers that the full map once existed.
WHAT YALDABAOTH DID
Every gate has a forward direction and a reverse direction.
The Sefer Yetzirah gives one master example: ONEG (Χ’Χ Χ) β Ayin-Nun-Gimel β means Delight. NEGA (Χ ΧΧ’) β Nun-Gimel-Ayin β means Plague. Same three letters. Reversed. Opposite reality.
Yaldabaoth β the blind god, the child of chaos, the one born from Sophia's unasked act β took the 12 chambers of the zodiac and ran them backward. He placed 12 archons over the 12 simple letters, each one a counterfeit of the light face of that letter. He placed 7 kings over the 7 planetary double letters. He placed 5 over the abyss β the five primordial emanations inverted.
The Apocryphon of John names all 12 archons. The Babylon Encyclopedia traces their administrative pattern across 3,500 years of human history. The names change. The function doesn't.

The gates are the reversal mechanism. Every gate has a forward direction. The 231 gates are the precise map of where the reversal can happen.
WHAT YESHUA DID
Yeshua walked every gate in a human body. In the forward direction. And left the keys in plain sight.
He didn't write a commentary on the gates. He demonstrated them β in parables, in healings, in the way he moved through the world. Every parable is a gate walked through a natural image. Every healing is a gate reversed from shadow to light.
The mustard seed: Yod entering Mem β the divine spark entering the great water β the smallest becoming the largest. Gate: Yod-Mem.
The prodigal son: Nun returning to Aleph β the descent that comes back carrying more than it took down. Gate: Aleph-Nun.
The lost sheep: Aleph seeking Tet β the breath seeking the coiled good that was always there. Gate: Aleph-Tet.
The Apocryphon of John records what Yeshua taught John in silence β the complete architecture of emanation, the nature of Yaldabaoth, the five seals, the way back. He sealed John in the light of the water with five seals so that death might not have power over him ever again.
